May 10, 1938 ~ June 29, 2018

Born in: Pueblo, Colorado,
Resided in: Colorado City, Colorado

Conrad E. Hegler, Jr., 80, passed away peacefully at his home in Colorado City, Colo. on June 29, 2018. Preceded in death by his parents, Conrad Sr. and Stephie (Jersin) Hegler; the loves of his life, wife, Bonnie; and son, Jeff, both in 2016. Conrad raced his way through life and enjoyed nothing more than the rumble of American horse power beneath his seat, with the latest of many being his ‘32 Woody and 2016 Shelby Cobra, affectionately named 'The Beast.' Though his journey had become a difficult battle, Conrad was a man without self-pity or complaints. He loved others for who they were without limits or conditions. There will be no funeral per his request. Instead, he would ask, 'Sit quietly and be still for a moment. Enjoy the blessings in your life...glorious sunsets, a flying dove, the mountain breeze and surround yourself with family and good friends with a beer in your hand!' A special appreciation to Conrad's special friends who were always by his side offering endless support and never more than a phone call away. He genuinely loved you. A very special thanks to Sangre de Cristo Hospice and to all those who provided his loving care. Online condolences, www.montgomerysteward.com

  5. Heartfelt condolences to the Hegler family. I met Conrad in 1973 and from that day on every time i bumped into him he was always the kindest, nicest man i had the honor of meeting in my lifetime. Mr.Hegler always had that smile and handshake for one that actually made one feel good about themselves. He never had a bad comment or negative opinion about anyone and always had a positive view about others. It’s because of the way he always treated me that i will remember Conrad Hegler and his family in my nightly prayers from now on. May he rest in peace.
