December 21, 1957 ~ January 25, 2023

Born in: Kansas City , Missouri
Resided in: Pueblo, Colorado

Christine Ann Snyder, 65, passed away on Jan. 25, 2023, after a brief hospitalization, surrounded by family. Warm, kind, and direct, Christine was devoted to her family, raising her daughter, Jennifer Marie, and dedicated to a career in nursing.

Christine was born in December 1957 and was raised mainly in Johnson County, Kan. She enjoyed crafting and sewing as a child and was a good student and sometimes athlete. While studying at Washburn University in Topeka, she met Jim Snyder, they married in February 1979. Later, Christine earned a Bachelor’s degree in nursing from Colorado State University-Pueblo.

In 33 years as a nurse, Christine was known for her compassion, patience, and empathy toward patients and their families, and as a trusted colleague and mentor in hospitals, hospices, and home health. Christine enjoyed many friends and co-workers, most recently at Enhabit. She was an Ambassador for Pueblo City Chamber of Commerce for 2 years. When Jennifer was born in October 1995, Christine turned her focus to nurturing and raising her. They became involved in the local pageant community; Christine attended Jennifer’s pageant dance classes and martial arts practice, fund-raiser charity projects, and acted as a second mom to Jenn’s friends.

The family returned often to their favorite beaches in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, Anna Maria, and Sanibel Islands in Florida. There Christine spent time with her sisters, and was able to relax, recharge and bring sunshine back with her to Pueblo, where she lived for more than 35 years.

Christine and Jim loved spending time on the beach on the gulf side of Florida and spent time riding in the golf cart. On Sundays, they relaxed together at the Broadmoor for brunch. These will be memories Jim will always recall and cherish in his heart. She will be missed by so many, but especially Jim.

She leaves behind her husband of nearly 44 years, Jim Snyder; mother, Mariam J. Fleming; sisters, Mary Lasseter and Sarah (Dean) Siegrist; brothers, Neal (Marguerite) Fleming and Bruce (Karyn Kubo) Fleming; brother-in-law; Jeff (Kim) Snyder; five nieces and nephews, and dog JayCeeOh.

Preceded in death two weeks earlier by her beloved daughter, Jennifer; father, Leslie W. Fleming; parents-in-law, Wayne K. Snyder and Joyce Snyder; and sister-in-law, Janet L. Snyder.

In a last caring act, Christine donated organs to benefit others. A celebration of her life will take place at a later date. Online condolences, www.MontgomerySteward.com

  1. Jim~ I am so sorry! Chris helped me so much in nursing school with our study sessions, story swapping and trials of being new nurses back in those early 90s. After moving away, I remember visiting in the early 2000s and randomly bumping into her shopping and she just literally glowed showing me pictures of Jennifer. She was so proud to be her mother and extremely proud of the father you were. The world lost two bright angels and I am praying for peace for you in this time of sorrow.

My heart aches for you. Christine was the most caring nurse. I appreciated her friendship and care. I especially appreciated her prayers when I went for surgery in October. I will miss her.

May God hld you in His loving arms and give you peace.

  6. Christine I Love you & will miss you & our talks. So many memories of our goofy antics. We laughed so hard we cried. Now I cry for another reason. I can’t believe you are not on this earth anymore, but I know you are with Jenn and our Lord in the most beautiful place. I pray for Jim and all your family & friends as they grieve. I know you will be watching over them. I Love you girl , & one day I’ll see you again in a perfect, beautiful place and we will laugh together again ❤️
