Charles Slaten, 83, passed away Jan. 22, 2011. Survived by his children, Candy (Wayne) Latka and Chuck (Diane) Slaten; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nephews and nieces. Preceded in death by his wife, Janie Slaten. Charles was born May 29, 1927, in Pueblo. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII in the South Pacific. Member of Silver State Lodge # 95, AF&AM, F.O.Eagles Aerie #145 and Operating Engineers #9. Military honors and a private family service will be held in the Mountain View Chapel Mausoleum. In lieu of food and flowers, memorials may be made to Wounded Warrior Fund through Montgomery & Steward Fuenral Directors, 1317 N. Main St., Pueblo, CO 81003.
