Charles Max Chidester passed away at home on Feb. 9, 2016. He was born Jan. 7, 1929, to Hazel (Carr Youngberg) and Walter Chidester in Pueblo, Colo. He graduated from Central High School in 1946 and from Colorado College with a degree in Military Science. Charles was honorably discharged from the Marine Corp. and retired from Army Civil Service in 1988. He volunteered at the Fred E. Weisbrod International B-24 Memorial Museum. He enjoyed his extensive work in genealogy and was an avid bridge player and teacher. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Barbara; children, Devon Chidester-Buckley, Pamela (Brad) Kramer and Bruce (Lisa) Chidester; grandchildren, Brandie Handley, Charles (Kayla) Buckley, Amanda (Larry) Reel, Gregory Kramer, Alex (Rachel) Chidester, Corey (Ashley) Chidester and Ethan Chidester; and numerous great-grandchildren. Charles was preceded in death by his mother and stepfather, Bryon Youngberg; his father; and sisters, Grace Addair and Betty Hibbert. Services will be held at a later date in Pueblo.
