Charles Edward Burbidge, 79, passed away on March 6, 2023. Survived by his wife, Karen Burbidge; daughter, Julie (Jim) Crain; son, Scot (Brandy) Burbidge; grandchildren, McKinzie (Reagan) Rudd, Carson Crain, Amelia Burbidge, Branson Burbidge; brother, Harry (Susan) Burbidge; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by parents, Herbert and Amelia (Kunau) Burbidge; sisters, Roxie Newell and Wilma Brill; brothers, Lowell Bollin and Dean Burbidge.
Charles was born, on June 3, 1943, at the family home in Pueblo. He retired from the Fire Department after 32 years. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, hunting, golfing, and meeting and talking to people. His family nickname was “The Mayor of America’. He was a member of the VFW, the Moose, the Eagles, the Elks, and the American Legion.
Cremation, Montgomery & Steward Crematorium. Service will be 10 am, March 15, 2023, in the Montgomery & Steward Chapel. Interment at Imperial Memorial Gardens, at a later date. In lieu of food and flowers, memorials may be made to Friends of Hollydot, PO Box 19285, Colorado City, CO 81019.

Karen, Julie and Scot, I’m sorry to hear of Charlie’s passing. He was a constant thread through our lives and he is missed. I have many great memories of you all and wish you strength as you go through this difficult time!

I met Charles a few times over my lifetime in Pueblo.
My son Brian wrestled Scott in Middle School (district 70-Pueblo).
I know some people in Rye, they said good things about Him.
We are not related that I know of. However, Burbidge is not a common name.

I’m so sorry for the loss of Charlie. We nicknamed him Charmin Charlie. He loved everyone. He will be missed at the Buckhorn Elks Lodge in Mesa, Az. RIP Charlie. You fought a good fight.

My prayers to Karen, Julie and Scott. My kids and I loved Charlie. When my kids were little, I used to take them to the fire station 7’s to see him. The kids just loved it. Charlie always had a kind word to say to me. I will always remember the rock walk that Chris was helping him build. Soar with the angels , my friend.
