Charla Maye Sallman Mills, 82, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Nov. 7, 2013. Charla was born in Scandia, Kans. on May 6, 1931, to Walter and Esther Sallman. She was the second child in a family of ten. Charla is survived by her husband of 65 years, Ron Mills; nine children, Jackie and Dallas Elenga of Pueblo, Colo., Ken and Patty Mills of Laramie, Wyoming, Ronda and Roy Hicks of Dacono, Colo., Ava and Dick Jay of Pueblo, Colo, Jan Mills of Pueblo, Colo., Cathy Mills of Byers, Colo. and Paula and Robbie Dickens of Pleasanton, Kans. Preceded in death by two sons, Skip Walter Mills and Danny Mills; and one granddaughter, Emily Mills. Charla and Ron had 19 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren, who filled their lives with love and joy. Charla was a wonderful caring woman who touched many lives over the years. She had a gift with children and passed on her wisdom and love to many as she was involved in Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts and children's church services throughout her life. She will be missed.
