Catherine E. Proudfoot, 95, born February 5, 1905, in Grafton, West Virginia; died November 6, 2000. Preceded in death by her parents, Claude
and Hannah Proudfoot; sister, Laura (Heath) Muhlhausen and brother, William D. Proudfoot. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Becky Proudfoot;
niece, Rev. Betty May (Rev. Robert) Seel and nephews, James H. (Marci) Heath, William 'Bil' Heath (Jacqui Sumption), Rev. Charles (LaVerne)
Proudfoot and several grand and great-grand nieces and nephews. Catherine leaves a host of friends and acquaintances. She grew up in Pueblo
and graduated from Centennial High School in 1923 and received a degree in Music Education from Bethany College in Lindsborg, Kansas. Catherine taught in Pueblo schools for 46 years, 42 of
which were at Park Hill/Risley Junior High. She also taught piano and marimba privately, continuing into her 90's. Well known as an accompanist, she played for Pueblo Charter Lions, Pueblo Kiwanis Club, Rye Summer Chautauqua, and numerous other groups in Pueblo. Member of First Presbyterian Church, an elder and active in women's work, Adah Chapter No. 34 of Eastern
Star, and held offices in Business and Professional Women locally and was president of Colorado BPW. Catherine's numerous awards included induction into Centennial High School Hall of Fame as an outstanding graduate. She will lie in state at the funeral home on Wednesday
from 2 until 7 p.m. A private interment will be
held at Mountain View Cemetery. Memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, November 9, 2000, at First Presbyterian Church, 220 W. 10th, with Reverends. Deborah Kehle Como, Betty May Seel and Charles W. Proudfoot officiating. In lieu of flowers, those who wish, may contribute in
her memory to Pueblo Charter Lion's Club for
the Blind or First Presbyterian Church in care
of the funeral home.
