Carolynn Sue (Thompson) Mathis, 81, passed away January 26, 2023, and was born January 31, 1941, in Pueblo, Colorado, to Howard and Thelma Thompson.
She graduated from Centennial High School (Class of 1959) and worked at First National Bank, until she met and married the love of her life, Larry Mathis. They traveled to many places, including four years in Rota, Spain, while Larry was in the Navy. After returning to Pueblo, they owned Park Lane Bowling Center.
Carolynn loved boating, motorcycling, and traveling, but most of all she loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, whom she traveled to see often.
Carolynn and Larry spent many years wintering in Yuma, Arizona, with friends from the Sky Corral Radio Control Airplane Club, and her sister and brother-in-law, Don and Dorothy Andrews.
Survived by her children, Natalie (Tim) Jetter, and Mark (Kim) Mathis; 6 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Dorothy (Don) Andrews; and sister-in-law, Joyce Thompson.
Preceded by her husband, Larry Mathis, on July 1, 2022; her parents, Howard and Thelma Thompson; and brother, Bob Thompson.
An informal celebration of Carolynn’s life from 1 to 4 p.m. May 25, 2023, in the Montgomery & Steward Banquet Hall.
