Carmen V. Jimenez, 84, of Pueblo, Colo., passed into the arms of her Lord and loved ones on Dec. 20, 2006. Carmen was born in Segundo Colorado on August 22, 1922. She met and married her one true love, Pedro 'Pete' Jimenez, in 1947, then moved to Pueblo. Carmen was a homemaker and was employed at the Holiday Inn. Carmen was known for her homemade sopa and loved working in her flower garden and as a child loved hearing Spanish stories that her father would read to her. Carmen was preceded in death by her husband, Pedro 'Pete' Jimenez; parents, Maria Gavina Gomez Gonzales and Feliz Manuel Gonzales; daughter, Martha Balk; brothers, Feliz Gonzales Jr and Raymond Gonzales. She is survived by her sisters, Nettie Roman, Jessie Maestes, Margret Carrillo (Jesus), Irene Cereceres, Madeline Almaguer, Virginia Solis (Johnny); sons, David Jimenez and George Jimenez; and daughters Gloria Jimenez (Bill Rael), Isabelle Blasewitz Crouse (John 'JP') and Rita Jimenez; 16 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Viewing from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 26, in the Montgomery & Steward Chapel. Rosary, 4 p.m. Tuesday, December 26, and funeral Mass, 10 a.m. Wednesday, December 27, with Msgr.
