Carmel Chavez, 66, passed away August 25, 2007. Survived by her husband, Joe H. Chavez; children, Erlinda Chavez, Mary Jane Plancencio and Peggy L. (John) Hegg, all of Pueblo; sisters, Helen Chacon of Pueblo, Helen Ortiz of Pueblo, Erlinda (Carlos) Espinoza of Colorado Springs, Margaret Villa of Roswell, N.M., Susie (Leonard) Valdez, Rosie (Larry) Algiene and Lydia Lucero, all of Pueblo; brothers, Joe Chacon of Dixon, Calif., Tony (Gloria) Lucero of Techolotito, N.M., John Lucero of Thorton, Colo., Ernest (Ruby) Lucero of Colorado Springs, Nick (Anna) Lucero of Cherry Creek, Colo., Manuel (Dudee) Lucero and Gabriel (Francis) Lucero, both of Pueblo. Also survived by her grandchildren, Todd H. Hegg, John A. Hegg, Eric Plancencio and Caroline Plancencio. Carmel was preceded in death by her parents, Antonio and Carolina Lucero; and her brother, Manuel Chacon. Carmel was born on February 2, 1941, in Villanueva, N.M.. She loved her family, helping people and she loved to meet and make new friends. Viewing from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Wednesday in the Montgomery & Steward Chapel. Rosary, 6 p.m. Wednesday and funeral Mass, 10 a.m. Thursday, August 30, 2007, with the Rev. Fr. Ben Bacino as celebrant. Both services will be held at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 900 E. Routt.   2. oh girls, i am so sorry to hear about your mother, i know that she was such a good person, and she will be truly be missed, but i went into a very serious depression and am still very sick that i never saw anybody when i went to pueblo, but i often thought about her and ask rachel if she had seen her, tell your father i am so sorry to hear about carmel, please e-mail and tell what happen if you want to. take care of your father girls
