Carl Stephen Marino. Carl earned his wings into heaven on July 15, 2022. He would have celebrated his 59th birthday in August.
Carl graduated from Pueblo County High School in 1982. He worked for Pueblo County Maintenance Department for twenty years until his retirement due to Multiple Sclerosis. Carl fought his illness with great determination and never complained. He was diagnosed in March 2022 with pancreatic cancer which took his life.
He was the most loving, caring and giving person you would ever want to meet. He had a great sense of humor and never met a stranger. He had a great love for his family and friends. Carl was so very proud of his Italian and Slovenian heritage. He loved the outdoors. He loved to fish and hunt. Carl particularly enjoyed taking a drive to the county farms where the Marino family originated.
Carl was a member of the KSKJ Lodge 104 of Pueblo since birth.
Carl was predeceased by his grandparents, John and Carmella Koman, Mike and Agnes Marino; his Dad Bob Fleming; special aunt, Rosemary (Marino) Runyon; and his dog and constant companion “Angel.” He is survived by his mother, Mary Frances Fleming; father, Carl M. Marino; his sister and best friend, Regina Marino. His is also survived by his partner for the past 22 years, Begi Stupar and her children, David and Destini Trusty, Dakota and Abby Stupar, grandchildren, Abigail and Baylee Trusty, Ezekiel and Zaidyn Stupar. Carl is survived by his brother, John Fleming and partner Pam Romero; sister, Terri Ortiz and family; as well as his beloved dog, Prancer. Carl is survived by Carl is survived by many other family members and friends.
A very special thank you to Carl’s extended family, Piff and Mary Jane Vigil, Bill Martinez, Joyce Vigil and Anthony Vigil-Martinez for their compassion and assistance given to Carl. Carl had a special place in his heart for the Children of St. Jude. If you wish, please make a donation through the funeral home office in his memory.
Viewing, from 3 to 5 p.m. Thursday, July 21, 2022, in the Montgomery & Steward Funeral Chapel. Funeral Mass for Carl will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, July 22, 2022, at St. Joseph Parish, 1145 S. Aspen Rd. Entombment, Roselawn Cemetery.

  2. So sorry to hear of Carl’s passing passing. He was a gentle soul. I met Carl when he would clean our building at Social Services. He was always pleasant and had the best personality. Rest in peace my friend.
