Burley Jay Rovenstine, 77, better known as ' Bud' or back in the day, 'Rover' of Pueblo West Colo., went to be with the Lord Feb. 6, 2017, after a short battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born July 9, 1939, to Elvin and Nema Rovenstine, both preceding him in death. He was born and raised in Colorado Springs and was a graduate of Colorado Springs High School, Class of 57. Bud is survived by his wife of 51 years, Karen Rovenstine; two sons, Greg (Lei Ann), Chris (Cherine) Rovenstine; and one brother, Loy (Joan) Rovenstine; four grandchildren, Racheal, Alisha, Ryan and Sarah; five great-grandsons; six nieces; and many friends. Bud served four years in the Air Force and worked at Cape Kennedy during the Apollo program. He was a carpenter, electrical repair tech and later a facility manager. He served as Music Director at two different Churches. He loved art, leather carvings, drawing cartoons and woodworking, winning several ribbons for his Intarsia at the State Fair. Memorial service, 1:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 13, 2017, Circle Drive Baptist Church, 801 N. Circle Dr. in Colorado Springs with Pastor Lewis 'Preach' Adkison officiating.
