Brenda Kay Derr, 55, passed away June 16, 2012. Survived by her husband, Rick L. Derr; children, Jason (Leslie) Derr and Christy Derr; grandchildren, Jaylen Kay, Michael Rick and Andrew Steven Derr; siblings, Jo Glenn, Vella Cannady, Betty (Tony) McQuay, Marjorie (Jim) Schooley and Jim Vansandt; numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents, Virgil and Velma Vansandt; and siblings, Frances Cernoia, Kenneth Vansandt and Virgil Vansandt. Brenda was born March 3, 1957, in Pueblo. She enjoyed caring for her grandchildren, golfing, snow skiing, hiking and vacationing with her family. Service, 11 a.m. Friday, June 22, 2012, in the Montgomery & Steward Chapel. Interment, Mountain View Cemetery. In lieu of food and flowers, memorials may be made to Breast Cancer Research through Montgomery & Steward Funeral Directors, 1317 N. Main St., Pueblo, CO 81003.   1. Thank you for all of your kindness. She was a very loving and kind person. She wss filled with anger in the end but that’s not who she was most of her life. Things comments were a very nice surprise.

  2. It’s probably been 17 years since I last saw Brenda – but she has always had a positive impact on me since. I remember the fun we had at Burt Ford, at Pinehurst Country Club, and our escapades in the piano bar Sing- Sing.

    I still hold on to all the advice you gave me – I think of you often, and always will. And I still wear the perfume, Tresor!

    My heart goes out to Rick, Jason and Christy. I am deeply sorry for your loss – I wish I would have found out sooner; Brenda was amazing.

    Kodi and I are so saddened by the news of Brenda’s passing. Our hearts go out to you and your family. You will find great strength from each other and especially in your grandchildren, they have a way of making everything a little brighter.
