Boyd A. Rafferty, Sr., 85, answered his last bell on Dec. 6, 2013. Left to cherish his memory are, his wife of 60 years, Lanore F. Rafferty; children, Boyd A. Jr. (Catherine) Rafferty, Neil P. Rafferty and Susanbeth L. (Chuck) Cochran; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and three daughters-in law. Preceded in death by his parents, James Barrett and Gladys (Gossett) Rafferty; son, Timothy E. Rafferty; grandsons, Jedediah Rafferty and Evan Cochran; great-grandson, Seth Flerchinger; siblings, Eugene Rafferty, James (Dorothy) Rafferty, Viola (Luther) Conger, AnnaMae (Richard) Scott and Danny Rafferty. Boyd served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He retired from the Pueblo Fire Department as an Assistant Chief and from Colorado Fuel & Iron as Fire Chief. Boyd enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his friends and family. Always ready to lend a helping hand to all. The family would like to thank Dr. Jim Stjernholm and staff and the staff at Sangre de Cristo Hospice for their care. Funeral service, 10 a.m. Tues.
