I had the good fortune of knowing Birch since the mid-80’s. We worked together at Wilcoxson, and I did some paint work for him on the Desoto, and the Willys Jeep. Most of my coffee breaks were spent with him, as I enjoyed his company very much. In approximately 1998, Birch helped us fence our back yard. I always looked up to Birch as a wise, strong individual. He was an inspiration to me in many ways. I’m sure he was a heck of Scout leader as well. I will miss him, but I am better for knowing him!
