Bettye Ruth De Pew passed from this life peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior on Oct. 8, 2015, at her home in Canon City. Bettye Ruth was born in Pueblo to Guy and Bessie Mc Crery. She was the youngest of six children. She attended school in Pueblo and graduated from Central High School in three years in 1945. Bettye Ruth was employed by Beatrice Foods Company for several years as a bookkeeper and later as a co-owner for her husband's businesses. Bettye Ruth was a first prize winner in the Colorado State Fair for her crocheting and needlepoint work for several years in a row. Bettye Ruth married Frank R. De Pew on Feb. 21, 1949, in Raton, N.M., which lead to over 66 years of happily married life. Leaving Frank who survives her along with her nephew, David (Patty) Stewart of Wood River, Neb. and niece, Victoria (Wayne) Urie of Bellevue, Ohio., plus numerous great nieces and nephews. Bettye Ruth was a member of Greydene Independent Baptist Church in Canon City and Pueblo Assembly # 11 Social Order of Beauceant. Viewing, 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2015, and funeral service, 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2015, in the Montgomery & Steward Chapel, 14th and Main St., in Pueblo, with Pastor Richard Wilson of Greydene Baptist Church officiating.
