Betty J. Cohen, 70, passed away April 26, 2018. Survived by loving friend and partner, Jack Rademacher; cousins, David and Jill Mittleman, Ann Yahr and Dave Hirsch and families; and special friends, Hays Alexander, Barbara Midyett and Kathleen Pusatory. Preceded in death by parents; aunt, Esther (Max) Berman; and cousin, Marjorie (Irwin) Mittleman. Betty was born to Julius (Jookie) and Paula Cohen on May 5, 1947 in Pennsylvania. She held a Masters in Counseling from Creighton University and worked at Wasson High School and Mitchell High School and started the District #11 Drop/Out Program. Betty's unwavering love for animals was a huge part of her life. She is with her Bogey, Benji and Peanuts watching hummingbirds from their porch. If you get a note from Betty, don't be surprised, as she asked to be buried with a notebook and pen. Funeral service, noon Sunday, April 29, in the Montgomery & Steward Chapel. Interment, B'Nai Jacob Cemetery. Just watched the beautiful service with the many blessings and tributes for Betty. I loved the opportunities to engage with her whenever our work paths crossed. She was truly a free spirit, her own woman and I learned something new about life and how to live it every single time I was around her. She will truly be missed.
