Bertie May Berry, 97, went to be with the Lord August 7, 2004. She was born May 28, 1907, in Iola, Kan., to Major Frank and Etta Alley. A resident of Pueblo, Colorado, since 1929, Bertie was an active member of the Pueblo Seventh-Day Adventist Church as Cradle Roll teacher and head of the Dorcas Society. She was an LPN at St. Mary Corwin Hospital. Her hobbies were sewing, doll-making, baking and canning. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother. Bertie was preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband, Clarence E. Berry; sisters, Frankie Morse and Marie Scott; and brother, Edgar Alley. She is survived by her stepmother, Anna Alley; half-brother, Earl (Pat) Alley; half-sisters, Martha Lou (Richard) Rowden, Wadene (Max) Fries and Anna Mae (Nick) Nickell; children, Virginia (Roy Murphy) Hayden, Edwin (Dorotha) Berry, Betty Sceville, Bonnie Berry, Gene (Leona) Berry, and Irene Burrier; grandchildren, Carla Stoffle, Edwin Berry, Dayna Ross, Norman Berry, Dennis Sceville, Delbert Hayden, Gene Berry Jr., Sharon Petrisak, Rick Berry, Donnie Sceville, Donna Chambers, Karin Hayden, Tanya Tobing, and Tammy DeLaRosa; 29 great-grandchildren, and numerous great-great grandchildren. Viewing at the funeral home today from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 11, at Pueblo Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 3910 O'Neal, with the Reverend Dr. Rade Milosavljevic officiating. In lieu of flowers or food, memorials may be made to the Dorcas Society at the above address.
