Bernice Mihelich, 87, passed away peacefully in Colorado Springs, on June 4, 2013, with her family by her side. She was born April 29, 1926, in Pueblo, Colo., to John and Theresa Plut who immigrated from Yugoslavia in the early 1900's. Bernice retired from Safeway after 20 years of service. Her interests included crocheting, traveling, fishing and spending time with her many friends and family. Bernice was also a member of St. Mary's Parish. She is survived by sons, Dan Mihelich and Joe (Buddy) Mihelich from Colorado Springs; granddaughters, Danielle Mihelich-Eaton and Jenifer Mihelich also from Colorado Springs; grandson, Capt. James Mihelich, US Army, currently serving in Afghanistan; and five great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joe Mihelich; and grandson, Sean Hamel. Memorial mass, 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 11, 2013, at St. Mary Church, 307 E. Mesa Ave., Pueblo, with the Rev. Fr. Ben Bacino as celebrant. Inurnment, Roselawn Cemetery.
