Barbara Stella Krasovec

Barbara Stella Krasovec, 97, passed away Oct. 1, 2019, in Pueblo. Barbara was born in Blain, Ky. to parents, Leander Spencer and Louise West. Her parents moved to Pueblo with their family in 1926. When Barbara graduated from nursing school, she was employed by Parkview Hospital and St. Mary Corwin Hospital. She also provided private nursing care and retired from nursing at Pueblo Manor Nursing Home. Barbara enjoyed crafts, flower gardening and fishing with her husband in the mountains and at their cabin by Lake DeWeese. She enjoyed entertaining her family, friends and church family at their cabin. Barbara was a loyal member of New Heights Baptist Church for over 20 years and was involved in many activities. Her love and tireless devotion to her church will be greatly missed. Barbara served the Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ her entire life. Preceded in death by her husband, William F. Krasovec, the love of her life. William worked for the CF&I and retired after 45 years of service. Also preceded in death by two siblings, Joy Lee West and Earl Gene West. Survived by nephew, Phillip (Linda) West and family of Cortez, Colo; step-daughter, Barbara (Mike) Whalen and family of Huntington Beach, Calif.; niece, Georgia Jean Grap and family of Rocky Ford, Colo; and many other nephews, nieces and friends. Graveside service, 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 11, 2019, at Roselawn Cemetery. Memorials may be made to New Heights Baptist Church, 3304 Baltimore Ave., Pueblo, CO 81008.
