Barbara LeAnne Lira, 69, passed away Aug. 30, 2009. Survived by her husband of 20 years, Nathan L. Lira; daughter, Lara Hays of Pueblo; brother, David (Carol) Evans of Oxnard, Calif.; special friend, Bill Koen; numerous nieces and nephews. Barbara also dearly loved her three puppies, Bicho, Dolly and Shelly. Preceded in death by her parents, Alex and Marjorie Evans; and sister, Janice Stavast. Barbara was born Feb. 13, 1940, in Omaha, Neb. She worked as a quality control supervisor for the Martin Company. She also worked at Wayne's Caravan and Porky's Bar as a bartender. Barbara loved to cook, enjoyed carpentry work and going fishing. She loved the outdoors and looked forward to spring each year as she enjoyed planting flowers. There will be no viewing. Cremation, Montgomery & Steward Crematorium. Memorial Mass, 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 5, 2009, at Christ the King, 1708 Horseshoe Dr., with Msgr. Tom Adrians V.G., as celebrant. The family respectfully requests the omission of food and flowers. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society, through Montgomery & Steward Funeral Directors, 1317 N.     Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time of your great loss. Barb was an inspiration with all the work she had done on your patio and in the back yard to make it a real garden spot. I am glad I got to visit with you both when I was back in Pueblo in June. You and Barb were great friends and neighbors for the many years we lived across the street. Please take care and we will keep you in our prayers.
