Barbara Cogswell Chidester, 88, passed away at home on Feb. 26, 2017. She was born to George Owen Cogswell and Katharine Saxton Cogswell on Oct. 5, 1928, in Hamilton, Ohio. She was attending Pueblo Junior College (now Pueblo Community College) when she met Charles Max Chidester. They married on Aug. 16, 1951, in Fredericksburg, Va., where Charles was stationed with the Marine Corps. They lived many places in their married life, and they enjoyed three years in Germany, before Charles retired in 1988. They then made their permanent home in Pueblo, Colo. She is survived by her children, Devon Chidester-Buckley of Rock Island, Ill, Pam (Brad) Kramer of Pueblo, Colo. and Bruce (Lisa) Chidester of West Jordan, Utah; grandchildren, Charles James (Kayla) Buckley and Brandie (Mike) Handley of Rock Island, Ill., Amanda (Larry) Reel and Gregory Kramer of Pueblo Colo., Alex (Rachel) Chidester of Portland, Maine, Corey (Ashley) Chidester currently in Okinawa, Japan, and Ethan Chidester of Kearns, Utah. There are also many great grandchildren, extended family members, nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss her presence here. Barbara enjoyed going places with Charles, volunteering with PBS, doing crafts, and playing bridge. She was preceded in death by her husband on Feb.9, 2016; parents; sisters, Evelyn (Ash) Welsh and Ruth (Urban) Leugers; and her brother, Charles Saxton Cogswell. Cremation, Montgomery & Steward Crematorium. Memorial service, 11:00 am on Saturday, Mar. 4, 2017, in the Montgomery & Steward Chapel.   1. What an amazing woman, friend, mother, sister, aunt, uma….
    She was a rock, and truly the glue that held us together! I will never forget our tea party’s, hours of card games, beef stroganoff, peanut butter, mayo, butter, pickle sandwich on burnt toast.
