Art Edmunds

Art Edmunds, 74, went to be with the Lord he loved on July 9, 2000. He was devoted to God first, his wife Betty, who he married 53 years ago, his 4 children, his 6 grandchildren, his 5 brothers and their families, his church and his many friends. He was a First Sargent in the infantry, serving in Japan. He graduated with top honors from the University of Missouri - Rolla where he was the first president of the Baptist Student Union. Art was elected to be a deacon in 1953 and served as a deacon and elder most of his adult life. He was a mechanical engineer with G.E. going into manufacturing in 1957. In Pueblo, Art worked as a commercial realtor for twenty eight years. Member of Pueblo Rotary Club No. 43. He served on many committees at his church, Calvary. Survived by his wife, Betty Edmunds of the family home; sons, Bill (Meg) Edmunds, Chicago, Illinois and Ed (Marsha) Edmunds, Greeley; daughters, Beth (Gary)Sparks, San Francisco, Calif. and Neva Edmunds, Denver; grandchildren, Katie & Julie, Chicago, Blake, Weston, Adam and Ryan, Greeley; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was a great Christian gentleman loving to laugh and joke. His family wishes to thank the people at Parkview Emergency Room, Dian and Gerry and staff at Montgomery & Steward, our pastors and friends at Calvary and our wonderful neighbors and other friends. Art will lie in state and the family will greet friends at the funeral home on Friday from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 15, 2000, at Calvary Church, 5 Tulane, with Pastor Scott Thomas, officiating. Military honors by the Pueblo Veterans Ritual Team and interment will follow at Imperial Memorial Gardens. Those who desire, may make memorials to the Calvary Church through the funeral home.
