Arianne Francesca Lane, 29, born on May 9, 1990, and passed through this world on Aug. 2, 2019. Our immense sorrow is only surpassed by our overwhelming gratitude for sharing the past 29 years with such a remarkable person. She is preceded in death by her beloved great-grandma, Frances Tortessi; great-grandma, Lorene (Lala) Radakovich; great-grandpa, Robert Radakovich; grandma, Theresa Catulli; grandpa, John Catulli; grandpa, Arthur Lane; as well as her devoted 'cancer dog,' Precious Princess Deeogi Marie.
For 25 years, Arianne handled her limitations from cancer at age four with courage and grace but it never defined her. During her life one of her most special moments was welcoming her baby brother, Richard, into our family. She loved Eeyore, traveling, going to the movies with her friend, Drew Milberger, scrapbooking with her many friends, volunteering at Vacation Bible School and visiting her great aunt, Frieda and uncle Al in Phoenix. But most of all she loved HER LIFE even with all the challenges she faced everyday. She loved animals and had talked about becoming a veterinarian until she found her true passion and opened her own small business (Cards for Life), making hand-made greeting cards.
Arianne graduated gold cord from South High School in 2009 and was honored to receive School District No. 60's first-ever 'SUPERIOR CHARACTER AWARD'. She was a lifetime 4-H member and excelled in the Creative Cooks contests winning several state awards.
Arianne is singing and dancing with the Angels. What a lesson in strength and bravery she taught us all. We feel so privileged to have been a part of her life. She leaves a legacy like no other.
Arianne is survived by her parents, Matthew and Geri Lane; brother, Richard Lane; grandma, Jo Anne 'Jody' Lane; great uncle, Tony (Sybil) Tortessi; great aunts, Bonnie (Mike) Fossceco and Frieda (Al Hensley) Spann; uncle Rick and aunt Diane Webb; cousins, Matt (Margie) and Claire Webb; uncle, Fred Catulli; cousins, Jenni Catulli, Lexi McGrath and Mercy Dulaney; uncle, Ray (Sharon) Catulli; cousins, Toni and Caroline Catulli, Jackie (Willie) Tilton and Ian and Lexi Tilton; godparents, Mike and Debbie Baer; and lifetime friends, Chelsea (Baer) Lindeman and Chad Baer; as well as numerous other family and friends.
A special thanks to Rick and Diane Webb. Their tireless support was unwavering and added an incredible sense of comfort to Arianne and all of us during this difficult past five weeks. We are also appreciative of the dedicated team of doctors and the myriad of other healthcare providers (from 1994 to present) for their devotion to Arianne.
Funeral Mass, 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 8, 2019, at Holy Family Catholic Church, 2827 Lakeview. Coach Lane and family, I fondly remember your family and was grateful to learn more about Arianne’s amazing life when I read the tribute to her in the Chieftain. It sounds like she was a light in this world. I know you have many happy memories of her to get you through your grief. I remember how resilient you all were when she was 4 and going through initial treatments. Geri and family, I send my sincerest condolences to you for your angel Arianne. It was beautiful watching her grow into an amazing woman and loving her talent in card making which I will miss. May you find comfort and peace in knowing she left you with wonderful memories. She may have gone “home” sooner than you but she definitely is watching over you all.

Geri and Matt, I was very sad to hear this news from my mom. I am so sorry for your heartbreak. Your Christmas letters over the years showed amazing strength, deep love, and hope–always forward. I am praying for God to hold you gently in his hands as you grieve, remembering your precious daughter.

I am so sorry to hear about Arianne. I saw Geri and Arianne in Colorado Springs perhaps 12 years ago at the Flipshack gymnastics place. It was so good to catch up with Geri, but I could see the pain — and the love — of a mother who was caring for a daughter that was so afflicted. Arriane was and is amazing. Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers.
Geri & Matt, I went to Central High with you BITD. Someone from last summer’s 40th CHS reunion sent me your sad news. Losing a child, of any age, is such a deep sorrow. I send condolences for your loss & all the hard times along the way. But your telling of your dear Arianne’s story made me smile too, at her zest for life & wide caring community. I’m sorry I didn’t know her. My husband Dave & I live in Maryland now x 30 years, & our 2 kids live in other states. Our older kid is just one year younger than Arianne was, & has T-1 Diabetes, which reminds me of how fragile & precious each life is & no guarantees. Just counting our blessings.

Geri and Matt,
I am so sorry and saddened to read about the passing of Arianne. My heart is heavy today for you and your family and for all of us who knew Arianne. I think about Arianne so often and she will always be in my heart. We have all traveled a road that few understand. If you ever want to talk, share memories, or just shed a tear, please don’t hesitate to call. I will always remember the outpouring of LOVE and support we witnessed at Central High School on the day we held that incredible spaghetti dinner on behalf of Arianne, oh so many years ago. Thousands came to embrace, encourage, support and love all of you. I truly believe your daughter has always held a very special place in the hearts of all who met or knew her, be it for a few minutes or a lifetime. It has been quite a journey for all of you and, though we may not ever learn or understand why such things may be, know that your daughter made a HUGE difference in this world and in people’s hearts and lives, and the courage and faith with which you all walked has been a lesson learned by all. Arianne’s life had a greater purpose than we might ever begin to comprehend!!! My memories and thoughts are among my treasures and I am but one of hundreds or more that have been humbled and blessed and inspired by knowing Miss Arianne Lane. My compassion and heartfelt sympathy to you and so many of your extended family that I know. May God bring healing to your broken and longing hearts. I am so sorry for your loss. Anyone who knew Arianne was blessed to have crossed paths with her. I remember many great times with her in 4-H and when we would run into each other in the past couple of years.
