Araletta M. (Linville) Laird, 83, passed away on June 13, 2006, in Pueblo, Colorado. Preceded in death by her husband, Robert W. Laird; mother, Maycel Lulu Cook; father and stepmother, Thomas and Henrietta Linville; sisters, Eva Eileen Flohrs and Vernetta Millis. Survived by her son, Wayne Laird of pueblo; granddaughters, Rebecca (John) Gacnik and Dawn (Brian) Zenner of Pueblo; sister, Patricia Botzler of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and brother, Jerry (Wanda) Linville of Erie, Colorado. Araletta, known as 'Lindy' by her family, was born on August 25, 1922, in Fountain, Colorado. She was a graduate of Central High School class of 1940 and was a Navy WAVES Veteran of WWII. She married Robert Laird in January 1947 and had been married 58 years. In 1982, they built a cabin in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains outside of Westcliffe, Colorado. They permanently moved to this location in 1986. Araletta enjoyed the peace and tranquility of their life in the mountains. After Robert passed, Araletta moved back to Pueblo to be closer to her family. Cremation at Montgomery & Steward Crematorium has taken place with no service planned.
