Allan Rodgers, 88, passed away December 9, 2002, at the Veterans' facility in Florence, Colorado. Allan was born in Longmont, Colorado on February 9, 1914. He was one of 6 boys and 1 girl born to William B. and Mary M. Rodgers. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Betty Rodgers, of the family home in Pueblo West; step-daughter, Kathy (Jim) Gaines of Pueblo West; brother, Jim Rodgers of Troutsdale, Oregon; four grandsons and their families, Danny Moore, Arlington, Ill., David Moore, Bridger, Mont., Dennis Moore, Huntington Beach, Calif., and Joshua Moore, Bridger, Mont.; and son-in-law, Chuck (Iva) Moore, Pueblo West. Allan enlisted in the U.S. Army on August 2, 1932, at Fort McDowell, California. He served in the Philippines during WWII under the leadership of General MacArthur as a ersonnel/administrative officer and retired at the rank of Major on November 30, 1959. Allan and Betty together enjoyed bowling,dancing, bingo,traveling all over the United States and attending church at Belmont Church of the Nazarene. The funeral service and Military Honors will be held 10 a.m. Monday, December 16, 2002, at the Belmont Church of the Nazarene, 1702 Bonforte Blvd., with Pastor Chuck Gibson officiating. A private family interment will be held at Mountain View Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Association, through the funeral home.
