Alice May Lewis, 90, of Pueblo, died Sept. 30, 2010. Beloved mother of Judy (Robert) Moore and Larry (Rhonda) Lewis. Also survived by her grandchildren, Delane Nicole Moehring, Lewis Birch and Jamie Birch; special cousin, Maureen Sullivan; four great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and special lifelong friends, Dorothy Alexander and Bonnie Standifer. Preceded in death by her parents, Alice Genevieve and Harry Harvey Rogers; sister, Emma Jean Stockton; brother, Chester Nuckols; and longtime friend, Gladys Hunter. Alice May was born March 7, 1920, in Pueblo. She graduated from Central High School and retired from School District 60. Alice May loved golf, bingo and animals, and always had numerous dogs and cats. She was a resident at Life Care Center for five and a half years. The family would like to thank Life Care and staff, CNAs, Amy, Vicki and Alan, Dr. James Stjernholm, Dr. Greg Bowman and staff, and the staff of Four Tower Parkview for all their care and devotion to Alice May. Thanks also to Brad Monroe and the staff of First Presbyterian Church. There will be no viewing. Cremation, Montgomery & Steward Crematorium. Memorial service, 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 4, 2010, at First Presbyterian Church, 220 W. 10th St., with the Reverend Dr. Brad Munroe officiating. In lieu of food and flowers, memorials may be made to PAWS for Life No Kill Shelter or Pueblo Animal Shelter through Montgomery & Steward Funeral Directors, 1317 N. Main St., Pueblo, CO 81003.   15. Although I did not know Alice, simply by reading her obit, I know she will be truly missed – not only by her family and friends, but by all of the critters she loved and protected in her lifetime. You and they were blessed by her presence here. God Bless you now, Alice.

  22. My prayer be with the late Alice and her family especial her daughter, Judy, whom I know as a very specialy friend online! I heard Judy talked about her mother from time and time. I don’t know Alice inperson but I am sure Alice had some great characteristics passed down onto Judy, espcially her selflishless and willingness to help the others!
    Now Alice is rest in peace and be free from any pain. God bless, and I am sure Alice was very proud to have a great family who love her and care about her so much!

  23. Alice May was a very special friend of my mother’s (Lois Mumm) The two of them were best friends and she was an important part of my mom’s life and death. My heart goes out to her children, grand children and all who knew her. She was a terrific lady and I enjoyed her laughter.

  30. Our condolences to Alice Mae’s family. Alice was a good lady and will be missed by her family and friends. Alice Maye enjoyed the Rockies and it was good to hear from her as we talked about the players and the plays. She enjoyed baseball and she was proud of her Baseball grandsons.
