Alfred Armour Bezona

November 30, 1928 ~ October 26, 2017

Resided in: Pueblo, Colorado

Alfred Armour Bezona rode out his last 8 seconds...and his pick up men took him to his heavenly home on Oct. 26, 2017... He was born in Holly, Colorado, on Nov. 30, 1928, to Otto and Rebecca Bezona. He was the fourth child born into a family of 10...during some of the darkest times in American history..the Great Depression and the Dust Bowl. It was during these hard times and the intense true grit of the west, his character was chiseled into the man he became. Not perfect, not always tender...but bet his hand shake was his word. He worked on the Bezona ranch until the age of 17, then enlisted in the Navy..serving briefly before the war was over. Upon returning, he worked at V Half Circle Ranch...met and married the love of his life..Geraldine Phelps. He loved the simplicity of that life, and until the day he died, those were his favorite memories. Al loved the rodeo..he was a stock contractor, judge, bull and saddle bronc rider. He played the guitar and mandolin. In later years, he enjoyed being a private pilot, water skiing and dancing. He worked and retired from Sinton dairy, but was better known for his real estate endeavors. Al and his son, Bret, bought, remodeled and sold many properties; they were known as 'the original home flippers.' He lived a colorful life and he lived on his terms. If you knew him...you won't forget him. He was one of kind. Survived by his children, Darla (Mark) Watson, Paula (Buzz) Williams, Jamie (Rocky) DeVencenty and Bret Bezona; 9 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; sisters, Lois Wieman and Lola Brooks; brothers, Boyd (Norma Jean) and Roy (Judy); brother-in-law, Jesse (Betty) Melton; and sister-in-law, Jeanne (Dean). Preceded in death by parents, Otto and Ida Rebecca; brothers, Scott (Lois), Richard (Joyce), Paul (Mary) and Dean; sister, Betty Melton. Memorial service, 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 1, in the Montgomery & Steward Chapel. Online condolences, www.montgomerysteward.com
