Aldea 'Dee' Sabo, 85, left this life unexpectedly Sunday, Oct. 12, 2014, to join her heavenly Father, family and friends in heaven. She was preceded in death by husband, Andy Sabo; father, Edmund F. Gobatti; mother, Sarah T. Gobatti; step-mother, Fleeta Gobatti; sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Paul Monchak; mother-in-law, Anna Sabo; and brother-in-law, John Hollberg. Left to cherish her memory are children, Sally (Pat) Mara, Andy (Jamie) Sabo Jr., Barbara (Bob) Hann; grandchildren, Tammy (Dustin) Cappellucci, Jeff (Kate) Mara; great-grandchildren, Isabella Cappellucci and Ivy Mara; sister, Regina Hollberg; nephews, Leo Hollberg, John (Diane) Hollberg, Kurt (Judy) Hollberg, along with her four legged 'life saver,' Samson, who never left her side. She was born Oct. 11, 1929, to Edmund F. and Sarah Gobatti and graduated from Centennial high school in 1947. Aldea worked at the Civil Defense Agency before attending florist school and opening Dee's Flowers with Andy in 1966. She poured her heart and soul into the flower shop for 37 years; loving and caring for her employees and customers. Her loyal employees were like family to her and called her 'Ma.' She was a president and governor of Pilot Club International and always enjoyed her 'Struttin' Our Stuff' Red Hats group. Aldea enjoyed spending time with her family and loved seeing her great grandchildren swimming and giggling. A celebration of her life and memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 17, 2014, at St. Mary's, 307 E. Mesa Ave. In lieu of food, please make donations to PAWS, The Pueblo Zoo or Wet Mountain Wildlife Rescue through Montgomery & Steward Funeral Directors, 1317 N. Main St., Pueblo, CO 81003. Mom letting us girls sneak out and you and your buddies out waiting for us! All good times. Oxford/Stanford won’t see those times ever again!
