Alberta 'Berta' J. Cordova, 75, of Pueblo, CO, passed away June 18th, 2015, surrounded by her loving family. Berta was born on August 3, 1939, in Pueblo, CO. Preceded in death by husband, J Frank Cordova; parents, Faustino and Euphelia Reyes; in laws, J Frank and Olinda Cordova; sister in law, Barbara Gomez; brother in law, Robert Chavez and nephew, Robbie Chavez. Survived by daughter, Anamarie Tienda; son, Matt (Gina) Cordova; grandchildren, Donnie Tienda and Olivia Cordova, Vanessa and Bobby Lucero; siblings, Bernie Chavez, Veronica Reyes and Charles (Theresa) Reyes and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Her special puppy, Winston. Berta worked for the Colorado lottery for 20 years retiring in 2004. Berta loved spending time with her family, shopping and trips to Cripple Creek with her sisters. Cremation, Montgomery & Steward Crematorium. Recitation of the Rosary, 6pm Wednesday, June 24, and memorial Mass, 10am Thursday, June 25. Both services at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1145 Aspen Rd. Inurnment at Imperial Memorial gardens. Family will receive family and friends at the parish hall following inurnment. God’s light shone through Auntie Berta’s life in many ways I’m certain, but for me it was in her grace and kindness. She seemed to have endless quantities of both, and more importantly, she generously extended not only grace and kindness but also love to me. I am truly blessed to know and love her.
Auntie Berta will always be in my heart and her example of using God’s gifts to benefit others is a trait that I will strive to follow.
