Albert Roy Hedrick went home to be with the Lord on Jan. 13, 2011. Known to family and friends as Roy. He was born in Caldwell, Kan. on Oct. 27, 1916. Roy was predeceased by his parents, Cora Ethel and Willard Hedrick; his sister, Louise Talbott Cushman; and his son-in-law, Ron Betz. He is survived by Merry Elizabeth, his loving and devoted wife of 69 years. Roy also leaves behind his children, Chuck (Kathy) Hedrick, Ron (Becky) Hedrick, Ken (Michele) Hedrick and Kay (Steve) Foute; ten grandchildren, Anne (Chris) Warren, Scott (Windi) Hedrick, Tad Hedrick, Tracy (Steven) Thompson, Derek, Andrew, Mark and Maggie Hedrick, Christopher and Meghan Betz; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Graduating from Pueblo Central High School in 1935, Roy was a building contractor for over 30 years. He loved to be with family, and in his spare time enjoyed golfing, fishing, camping, and traveling. He and Merry traveled extensively throughout North America and Europe. Thanks to Roy, his children and grandchildren share his love of camping, fishing, and hiking in the mountains. He will be remembered for his hard work ethic, fairness, quick wit, and sense of humor. The family would like to thank the staff of Life Care Center of Pueblo and Dr. Jim Stjernholm for the loving care that they provided Roy during his last few years. Special thanks to Trinidad, Tawney and Margaret at Life Care. There will be no viewing. Private interment followed by a memorial service, 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 17, 2011, at Family Worship Center, 3800 Parker Blvd., with Pastor Dave Smith officiating. Online condolences, MontgomerySteward

Both Kathleen and I are sorry for your lose. I remember your dad as a kind, gentle and happy man who was proud of his children. May you all have happy memories and be at peace.
