Albert Arthur Allen, Jr., 79, passed away February 9, 2004, in Pueblo, Colorado. Survived by his wife, Geraldine Allen; three daughters, Barbara Anne Allen of Pueblo, Anne Christien (Joe) Behm of Peoria, Arizona and Mary Therese (Frank) Samuelson of Green River, Wyoming; one brother, Robert Merle Allen of Marshalltown, Iowa; and five grandchildren, Jeremy Behm, Joshua Behm, Jamie Behm, Kelly Cassidy and Charles Samuelson. Albert was born October 24, 1924, in Marshalltown, Iowa. He served his country in the U.S. Marines during WWII and was a controller for The Pueblo Chieftain. As per his request, there will be no viewing. Burial will take place at a later date in Albion, Iowa.
Gerri, you and Al are an indelible part of my childhood. I have many fond memories of you and Al and your family. We all miss you terribly.
Gerri: I send my sincere sympathy to you and your family. When I first came to work at the Chieftain, Al was such a help to me and we were good friends. We are all saddened by his death.
