Aba Kiyoko Masengale, 84, went home to be with the Lord on November 21, 2015. She is survived by her brothers, Lewis Watanabe and Bill Watanabe of California; daughter, Robin (Gordon) Shearer of Pueblo West; and four grandchildren, Christina, Aaron, Alex, and Alaina. Preceded in death by her husband, Clay Masengale. Aba was born to Seizo and Konami Watanabe on February 20, 1931, in Layton, Utah. She served in the Women's Army Corps and retired from civil service after 24 years. Aba enjoyed gardening and fishing until her grandchildren were born and then she loved participating in every possible activity with them. She lived in Lakewood from 1961 to 2008, then in Pueblo West for three years before living out her years at the Colorado State Veterans Nursing Home in Walsenburg. Memorial service, 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 7, 2015, at Grace Fellowship Church of Lakewood, 9210 W. 2nd Ave., in Lakewood. Following the service, Aba will be laid to rest next to her husband, Clay, at Ft. Logan National Cemetery, at 2 p.m. with military honors. Online condolences, www.montgomerysteward.com
