Shelley Lynne Van Galder, 61, ended her battle with cancer on January 7, 2020. Survived by husband, George Van Galder; children, Elisha McDowell (Mario Lopez) and Chad (Lindsey) McDowell; step-children, Sam Van Galder (Jeff Rosenberg), Alan (Sara) Van Galder and Earl (Rebecca) Barnard; grandchildren, Jaylene McDowell, Cael McDowell, Brittany (Jarret) Ruth, Kimberly Van Galder (Ryan Bastian), Lisa (Lane) Foster and Kiana Van Galder; great grandchild, Westyn Ruth; parents, Bill and Coleen Rose; siblings, Bill (Terry) Rose and Marci (Joe) Rose-Homra; nieces and nephews, Natalie (Nick) Buike, John Rose, Kelly (John) Hammond, Anne Rose, Neal Rose and Kyle Vonfeldt; great nieces and nephews, Nikole Buike and Nashe Buike; aunts and uncles, Sherrol (Fred) Lichte, Lynne (Cal) Willemssen and Gary (Barbara) Ellefson; cousins, Brad (Sheila) Barbour, Darci (Roy) Adams, Erica (Todd) Stahl and Erik Ellefson; and close family friend: Cliff Lushbough.
Preceded in death by cousins, Bryce Barbour and Thatcher Ellefson; and close family friend, DeVee Lushbough.
Shelley was born to Bill and Coleen Rose on January 9, 1958, in Brookings, South Dakota.
She worked at D&S Paint Center in Pueblo, Colorado and enjoyed traveling, horses, spending time with grandchildren, cooking, sewing and reading. Shelley loved living in the country, loved history (especially about the Civil War) and genealogy work.
Graveside service, 9:30 a.m. Monday, January 13, 2020, at Mountain View Cemetery, 1315 Acero Avenue, Pueblo, Colorado followed by celebration of life, 10:30 a.m. in the Montgomery & Steward Chapel, 1317 N. Main Street, Pueblo, Colorado

I was deeply saddened by the news of Shelley’s passing. My heart felt condolences go out to her family.
What a beautiful smile! Losing someone who is loved so much is one of life’s greatest sadness. May your memories keep them forever in your heart. Sending prayers, heart hugs Susan and Lou Garcia.
