Ronald B. Even, 86, of Pueblo, Colo., was born April 17, 1937, in Pueblo, Colo. and passed away Friday, October 27, 2023.
Survived by his wife, Patricia Even; children, Greg (Sue) Even, Rhonda Brunjak, Tricia (John) Tondera and Anthony (Patty Jo) Even; sister, Arlene Walding; brothers, William Even and Jim (Mary Kay) Even; grandchildren, Jessica (Skylar) Meade, Maggie (Derek) Steele, Emma (Chris Wang) Brunjak, Logan (Colton) Kuhn, Kyle (Mikayla) Even, Seth Even, Jackson Tondera, Michael Carpenter and Jenny ( Rolando) Reyna; and 9 great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his brother, Melvin Even; parents, Margaret and Bernhard Even; and son-in-law, Jim Brunjak.
Growing up, he was a drum major in school. Majoring in music, Ron graduated from UNC with a BS degree in 1965 and a Master’s degree in education. In high school and college he played bassoon 1st chair. He also played a season in the Pueblo Symphony. He taught English and Media Center at Freed Middle School.
Ron loved music, fishing, hunting and golf. He lived side by side with his wife and they enjoyed gambling in the Colorado Mountains.
Memorial service, 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 4, in the Montgomery & Steward Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or Abode Hospice, 1050 Eagleridge Blvd., Pueblo, CO 81008

  3. CandleImageRon used to come to Leadville where we lived to fish. He always had a smile on his face. He would bring a little something for the kids. I went out fishing with him once. First and only time I use a sinker and lure with a fly rod. 🤭 It worked!! Such a great guy!! He will be missed…..
