Randall David “Randy” Smith, 69, passed away on March 19, 2023. Survived by his wife, Joanne Cullen Smith; John J Smith; grandsons, John D Smith and Emitt Smith; and two great-granddaughters. Preceded in death by his daughter, Misty Smith; and mother, Georgia Boyd Sands.
Randy was born to John L. and Georgia M. (Boyd) Smith on May 6, 1953, in McComb, MS
Randy’s stepfather served in the USAF and Randy grew up on numerous bases across the country. He and his mother finally settled in Houston Texas where Randy graduated from Sharpstown High School.
Randy started working in the construction industry at the age of 17 and worked primarily in the carpentry field. He served as Superintendent and Project Manager on numerous apartment complexes and condominium projects in Texas and in Colorado Springs, CO.
He moved to Colorado in 1995 and met “his Joanne” in 2001. They married in 2004 at the top of Red Mountain Pass.
In 2003 Randy started Pride Builders LLC. The company name was carefully chosen to represent the way Randy approached everything: To do the job right and be proud of the work you have done. In 2006 Pride Builders LLC won the 2006 PAHB Parade of Homes People’s Choice Award.
Randy enjoyed captaining his boats on the Pueblo Reservoir and Lake Conroe in Texas, riding his Harley Davidson, camping, his English Springer Spaniels, and most of all spending time with Joanne.
