Michael F. Voyles

December 16, 1948 ~ September 5, 2023
Born in:
Lawton, Oklahoma
Resided in:
Pueblo, Colorado
It is with a heavy heart we announce our dad, Michael Voyles, 74, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2023. We know he is now walking hand in hand in Heaven looking over all of us with his soulmate, our Ma, Martha Voyles.
Pop is survived by his two sons, Joshua (Nona) and Seth (Stephanie); and grandkids, Brandon, Sophia, and Caleb.
If you knew our dad, you’d know he wasn’t afraid of anything. He ran toward fires to make sure total strangers were safe and scared off huge dogs and even a bear to name a few. Pop would put himself in harm’s way for anyone because that is how he was wired. He was our protector.
Pop was the hardest-working, best man ever. He never made excuses, just found ways to solve problems. He was a US Navy veteran, a river rat in a tiger boat in Vietnam. Pop was proud of his service to the country. He said it was a blessing and a curse. He saw the world and made best friends and brothers forever. However, he had to bury many of his friends and brothers there. Part of Pop died there too. Even though he had health problems related to the war and had nightmares every night, he wouldn’t trade it for anything.
Our dad was the best husband, father, papa, uncle, and friend. He was also a surrogate father to many of our friends. Pop was one of a kind and the world is a lesser place without him. We know he will be our guardian angel and will be with us always. We all miss him immensely.
At his request, private services will be held. Online condolences at www.MontgomerySteward.com
