Ernest A. Gonzales, 84, decorated United States Army WWII veteran and retired CF&I (Colorado Fuel & Iron of Pueblo, Colo.) steelworker went home to be with his Lord on Sunday, February 13, 2005. Ernest was born on July 31, 1920, in Ranchos de Taos, N. M. He is preceded in death by his parents, Flavio and Alberta Gonzales; and brothers, Flavio and Alberto Gonzales. Ernest is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Sen Gonzales; brother, Fred Gonzales; sisters-in-law, Dora Pacheco, Maggie Gonzales and Adelia Gonzales. Beloved father to Ernestina (Ken) Montoya, San Diego, Calif.; Dorothy (Bob) Hernandez, Denver; Tobias (Sandy) Gonzales, Seattle, Wash.; Maggie (Rudy) Orona, Calera, Ala.; Eduardo (Roseann) Gonzales, Denver; Henry (Frances) Gonzales and Carla (Rick) Montoya, Pueblo. Ernest is also survived by 18 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and numerous relatives and friends. Funeral service, 10 a.m. Tuesday, February 15, 2005, at Praise Assembly of God, 2000 Troy, with Pastor Bobby J. Wilson officiating. Interment, Roselawn Cemetery with full military honors by the Pueblo Veterans Ritual Team. Reception to follow at the Praise Assembly of God Activities Center.
