Rosalind Mary (Garcia) Vásquez

Rosalind Mary (Garcia) Vásquez, 84, passed away on Sept. 22, 2026. Survived by children, Andrea Vásquez (Angel) Madrid and George (Karen) Vásquez; grandchildren, Cheyenne, Sierra, Phoenix and Dakota Madrid and Anaya and Zeta Vásquez; siblings, Phil Garcia and Jerry Garcia; and numerous cousins and relatives.

Preceded in death by her parents, Onesimo “Lonnie” and Joan (Marshall) Garcia; siblings, Gigi (Garcia) Schieber, Diana (Garcia) Sanchez, Ernie Garcia and Thomas Garcia.

Rosalind was born to Onesimo and Joan Garcia on Aug. 3, 1942, in  St. John’s, Newfoundland, Canada. She joined the convent after graduating from La Junta High School in 1960. After four years, Rosalind returned to La Junta where she married Martin and raised Andi and George. She later worked at Beulah Heights as a para for Special Ed students.

Rosalind was a member of the church choir and a lector at Holy Family. She enjoyed crafting, crochet and spending time with family in San Isabel. She was a proud native Newfoundland.
