Lawrence “Larry” Olander, of Pueblo West, passed away on August 21st, 2026 at the age of 61.

Larry was born to Robert and Sandra Olander on June 10, 1965, in Rochester, New York. He was the youngest of four and was affectionately called the “big little brother” and “motormouth.” He graduated from Emily Griffith Technical College in Denver and was proudly an experienced expert in his fields of optometric assistant and optical sales, which took him to many places across the country. Larry worked hard and played hard and was generous to a fault.

Survived by his sister, Wendy Olander; niece, Mara Bacon; and great niece, Amethyst Lewis. He was adored by his friends and was always there for anyone that needed him. Larry was a great cook, bassist, dungeon master and all around human. He was true to himself and nobody was like Larry; equal parts stubbornness and heart. He could speak with anyone about any topic, while treating people fairly. He will be missed and always remembered.

Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. CandleImageLarry was one of my best friends in High School. Most of my memories of Larry involve cruising around in his Mom’s Pink Lincoln Continental, his Audi Fox or on my 1970 Honda Scrambler. He liked the motorcycle and our favorite game was seeing how many different traffic laws we could violate in one night. He introduced me to the album Black Sabbath, by the band Black Sabbath, back in 1983 and to this day they remain my favorite band of all time. I will always look back fondly cruising, playing Dungeons and Dragons and just having a good friend. Rest in Peace Larry.

  2. CandleImageI worked with Larry decades ago at LensCrafters in Buckingham Square. We quickly became friends as he was so easy to talk to. And yes, he can talk about anything! He came to my wedding and we’ve kept in touch till about a couple years ago.
Larry I’m sorry I let a couple years go by without calling you. You are a precious soul that I can’t wait to see again in the next life. You took on a lot in this lifetime and you fought hard and strong. I love you friend.

  3. CandleImageI worked with Larry for many years and we stayed in touch even after both of us were not working together. He was always so thoughtful and had a great sense of humor. He will be missed.
