Ethel “Margaret” Morris, born July 10, 1942, in San Diego, CA, walked with the Lord on July 11, 2026.
Survived by her husband of 65 years, Robert M. Morris; son, Robert S. Morris (Lisa); special granddaughter, Arielle Madison Morris of Rumson, N. J.; sister, Theda “Sid” Chaddick of Las Vegas, NV; nephew, Brad Chaddick; nieces, Brandy, Sherry, Shanna, and Dusti; sister-in-law, Anne Gerstenberger.
Predeceased by parents, Ralph V. and Ruby (Welty) Gerstenberger; brother, Virgil “Bud” Gerstenberger; sister, Janet “Ty” Sisk; brother-in-law, Larry Sisk; brother-in-law, Cliff Chaddick.
Margaret always had a bright, infectious smile. She spent her entire career in the medical field. Started as a candy striper, as a teenager, then became an RN, where she worked at Parkview Hospital for several years and then went to the private sector where she worked for Dr. Wersck, Dr. Beckwith, and finally with Dr. Rendler, until she was in her 70s.
She was a nurse who loved her patients and they loved her back and would even call her at home to ask for advice. She was very talented and occasionally got into trouble for cutting and styling the fellow nurses hair at work. They always had a good laugh.
Margaret was proud of the fact that she was a member of the first graduating class of East High, “East High Eagles and CHA CHA CHA.” She was a Colorado State University extension Master Gardner for 34 years, where she received “Volunteer Of The Year” award. She also received “Volunteer Of The Year” for her work with the Pueblo River Walk.
She loved trimming her bushes at home, said, “her husband didn’t have an eye for it!” She loved helping finish cement, help hang drywall, or pulling wire! She loved painting the inside of the house, there wasn’t a thing she couldn’t do!
A special thank you to the wonderful, loving care giver, Ann Zitek, and the angel of a neighbor, June Archuleta. They loving helped Margaret fight a terrible disease. Margaret never gave up. She fought till the end!
