Resided in:
Pueblo, Colorado
Dorothy “Dottie” Elizabeth Minshew Nutt, lovingly known as “Dotdot” by her grandchildren,
peacefully passed away on May 21, 2026, at the age of 78, surrounded by her loving family.
Dottie is survived by her devoted husband and soulmate, Tom Nutt; her son, Bryan Nutt, and his
daughter, Victoria Nutt; her daughter and son-in-law, Ashley Earls and Kevin Earls, and their
children, Drake and Brooklynn Earls; her brother, Rufus “Buzz” Minshew. She is also survived
by her chosen family, the Salas family and the Vigil family; along with numerous other cherished
friends whom she lovingly ‘adopted’ throughout her life. No matter where life took her, Dottie
had a special way of creating lasting bonds with those around her.
She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, George Minshew and Betty “Nonnie”
Minshew; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Doyle Nutt Sr. and Berta Nutt; her sister-in-law,
Pamela Minshew; her brother-in-law and and sister-in-law, Jim Rook and Patricia Nutt Rook.
Born in Dumas, Arkansas, Dottie lived a life filled with joy, laughter, and a deep love for those
around her. She is remembered as a large, vibrant personality. As her husband, Tom, described
her, “she brought a party with her wherever she went.” Time spent with Dottie was almost
certainly spent in laughter.
Dottie enjoyed gardening, cheering on the Arkansas Razorbacks, and spending time with her
loved ones and cherished toy poodle, Amber. She loved traveling and especially treasured
cruising with her daughter Ashley and chosen daughter, Kathleen Cox. She adored babies and
never missed an opportunity to stop and say hello to one in public, much to the playful
embarrassment of her children.
The only thing larger than Dottie’s personality was her loving nature. Her passing leaves an
immeasurable void in the lives of all who knew and loved her. Though her family will forever feel
her absence, they will continue to celebrate her legacy.
A private ceremony was held at the time of Dottie’s passing. In accordance with her wishes, she
will be cremated and returned to the side of her beloved husband, Tom, the place she loved
most.
