Donald “Don” E. McGrath, 74, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 6, 2026. He was born on October 27, 1951, in Pueblo, Colorado.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Velma Kaiser; father, Edward Kaiser; and brother, Thomas McGrath.

Don is survived by his wife, Maria; son, Christopher (Deborah) McGrath; daughter, Kara McGrath; granddaughter, Lillian McGrath; brothers, Doug (Sherri) Kaiser, Timothy (Linda) Kaiser; sister, Kimberly (Bryan) Smith; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Don was a respected Trainmaster (retired) and loved fishing, bird hunting, watching Western movies, and spending time with his family. In his retirement, he managed the Colorado City Cemetery which was near and dear to his heart. He was also a devoted Colorado Avalanche and Dallas Cowboys fan. Don was known for his humor, hard work, and love for his family.

Don’s life will be celebrated with a Rosary at 10:30 a.m and Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 23, 2026 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Rye, Colorado. Online condolences, www.MontgomerySteward.com
