Joyce E. Avery, 92, passed away on May 1, 2026. Survived by her daughter, Dolores “Lori” (David) Tilstra; brother, Dale (Marilyn) Fishburn; sister, Judith K. Mears; grandchildren, Russ Tilstra, Tonya Kazort, Clayton Schiller, Bradley Brown, Angel Zavednak, Wesley Glenn, and Douglas Glenn, Jr.; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by husbands, Clayton Glenn and Roy Avery; children, Doris Schiller, Dorothea Brown, and Douglas Glenn; sisters, Audrey Greenlee, Lois Krueger, Joan Bentley, and Marlene Tanney; and brothers, Kenneth Fishburn, Donald “Dick” Fishburn, and Frank Fishburn.
Joyce was born to Ralph and Gladys (Mathias) Fishburn on Oct. 6, 1933, in Ottawa, Ill. She worked at the Pueblo Elks Lodge #90.
Joyce enjoyed baking, bartending, and playing cards. She was a member of the Pueblo Elks Lodge #90, Moose Lodge, and Eagles.
