In Loving Memory of
Carla June Scott
December 6, 1938 – October 21, 2025

Carla June Scott, 86, of Pueblo, Colorado, passed away peacefully on October 21, 2025.
She was born on December 6, 1938, in Nowata, Oklahoma, to Carl and June Elgin.
Carla lived a full and hardworking life, devoted to her family, her faith, and the land she
loved. Over the years, she worked both as a rancher and a florist—two callings that reflected her deep appreciation for nature, beauty, and care. She had a special way of bringing life and color to everything she touched, whether it was tending to her animals, arranging flowers, or making a home filled with warmth and laughter.
A lifelong lover of animals and westerns, Carla found joy in simple pleasures and wide-open spaces. She cherished the quiet mornings on the ranch and the companionship of her beloved pets through the years.
Carla was a faithful member of Central Christian Church of Pueblo, where she found strength and fellowship among her church family. Throughout her life, she lived in Ridgway, Montrose, and Canon City before settling in Pueblo with her sister, Peggy. Each community she called home was touched by her generosity, resilience, and steady kindness.
Carla was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Lee Scott; her son, Patrick Scott; her brother, Jon Elgin, and his wife Yvonne; and her parents, Carl and June Elgin. She is
survived by her daughter Lisa Buter and husband Scott; her son David Powell and wife
Corrine; and her sister Peggy Meservey. She also leaves behind numerous grandchildren
and great-grandchildren, who brought her immeasurable pride and joy, as well as many
nieces, nephews, and dear friends who will miss her deeply.
A graveside service and burial will be held at Valley Lawn Cemetery, 17669 US-550,
Montrose, Colorado, on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at 10:30 a.m.
Carla will be remembered for her steadfast heart, her quiet strength, and the kindness she
shared so freely with all who knew her. Her legacy of love, faith, and compassion will
continue to bloom in the lives of all she touched.

“The Lord bless thee, and keep thee: The Lord make his face shine upon thee, and be
gracious unto thee.” — Numbers 6:24–25

Psalm 23
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the
house of the Lord for ever.
