Grace (Gay) Anne Young Woodward,96, of Pueblo, Colorado passed away peacefully
on October 2, 2025. She is survived by 2 daughters: Tanya Knorr of Norcross, Georgia
and Kathi Knox of Pueblo, Colorado; Grandchildren: Elizabeth (Bradley) Harrison, Alicia
(Jacob) Walsh, Michael Knox, David (Rachael) Knorr, Paul Knox, Beatrice Knox: great
granddaughters: Marin Knorr, Aria Knorr, Aubrey Grey and Isabelle Harrison
Preceded in death by her husband David; parents Almeda Zay (Wright) and Edgar
Berkley Young; son Michael Woodward and sister Margaret (Young) Frey.
Grace (Gay) was born November 1, 1928, in Newman, Illinois. She graduated from the
University of Illinois where she met and married her husband. She was a member of
Delta Zeta Sorority. She was a was a much-loved kindergarten teacher for many years
in the Bahamas where her husband was General Manager of Underwater Explorers
Society. She also worked alongside her husband at other scuba diving operations in
San Salvador, Bahamas, Norman’s Cay, Bahamas, Bonaire and Grand Cayman Island.
Gay was known for her kindness, hospitality and generosity. Up until the end Gay
maintained her grace, compassion, appreciation of beauty, love of family and friends,
and expressed gratitude for her long life, full of wonderful and varied experiences.
There will be no viewing. Cremation, Montgomery and Steward Crematorium. Memorial
service will be October 23, 2025, 2:00 pm at First United Methodist Church 310 West
11th Street, Pueblo, Colorado 81003.In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to First
United Methodist Church.
