Mary Gomez Diaz, 78, passed away unexpectedly on September 7, 2025. She was born October 23, 1946, at 6:17 in the evening to Benito and Magdalena Gomez. Mary was the third oldest of 16 siblings.
Mary is preceded in death by her younger brother, Ricky Brandon, 1st; her son, Hector Benito; parents, Benny and Maggie; nephew and godson, Angel, Jr.; and brother, Ben.
Mary graduated in 1964 from Centennial High School, where she attended classes with her cousin, Joe Ramirez. She was mother to Barbara Ann, Hector Benito, and Nicole Adrianna. She was a devoted grandmother to Jackelynn Allyce, Jacob Christopher, Raquel Elena, and Alexandrea Yolanda; and godmother to Nicholas, Adam, Jodene, and Denise.
From 19 years of age to her later years, Mary was extremely hard-working and steadfast in providing for her family. During her many years working in the medical field, she made friends with numerous co-workers, many of whom she stayed in touch with over the years.
She was a member of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church and was active in the Our Lady of Guadalupe Society. She also taught catechism classes in the early 1980s alongside Terry Almeda, may she also rest in peace.
Mary will be remembered for the love she had for her family, her determination and motivation, and her strength and resilience.
She is survived by her sisters: Angie (Dion) Hernandez, Joan Gomez, Genevieve “Chuca” (Carlos) Rubio, Maria “Jessie” (John) Muniz, Dolores (Billy) Ruiz, Theresa (Frank) Ayala, Mary (Henry) Gomez, Jeanette (Frank) Alaniz; her brothers Eddie (Maureen) Gomez, Johnny (Freida) Gomez, Matt Gomez, Ricky (Carol) Gomez, and Joe (Carol) Gomez; her daughters Barbara (Chris) Perez, Nicole (Carlos) Laureano; grandchildren: Jackelynn Perez and Jacob Laureano; numerous nieces and nephews; and lastly, her loyal pup, Mio Diaz.

Funeral Mass to be held at St. Joseph Parish, Friday September 12, 2025, at 2:00pm

  6. I will always remember your Beautiful/ spunky style. You always looked so nice no matter where you went. I will miss your green chili as well. Most of all I will miss how loving and welcoming you always were to my mom no matter how much time had past or who was around You Always talked to her and welcomed her with open arms. My mom really enjoyed spending time and talking with you. Thank you for that auntie to me that shows integrity and true love and I will never forget that. I will also miss talking to you about all the cars you’ve owned, crazy we were just talking about that a month ago. Love and miss you always little John. 💯💕
