It is with deep sorrow and much love that we announce the passing of Elia John Bagale, MD, who left us on July 31, 2025, at the age of 82. Dr. Bagale is predeceased by his parents, George and Dorothy Bagale; and his wife, Suzanne Bagale. Dr. Bagale was a treasured father to Jennifer and Daniel, and a doting grandfather to Joshua and Jeffrey. He also leaves behind his beloved son-in-law, Jeff, and his cherished sisters, Beth Roberts and Rosanne Bagale. Dr. Bagale’s life was filled with meaningful contributions, both professionally and personally. Dr. Bagale was born on July 9, 1943, in Flint, Michigan. He attended the University of Michigan Medical School and served in the US Air Force as a Major after completing a residency in Internal Medicine. After moving to Pueblo, Colorado, he practiced Internal Medicine for nearly four decades and cared for many patients. When he wasn’t providing patient care, he could always be found woodworking and enjoying life in his cabin in South Colony Creek. Upon retirement, Dr. Bagale was a compassionate caregiver for his ailing wife. Dr. Bagale was loved by many patients and all of his South Colony Creek friends. He loved family get-togethers and holiday dinners and loved bringing presents to his family’s dogs, Gunner, Yeti, and Kodiak. He lived a life marked by dedication, compassion, and unwavering commitment to his family and community. A celebration of life for Dr. Bagale will be held for friends, family, colleagues, and patients at 2 p.m. on September 6, 2025, in the Montgomery & Steward Banquet Hall. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, and his legacy of kindness, wisdom, and love will live on in the hearts of his family and friends. 1. CandleImageI am writing to pay tribute to Dr. Bagale, whose dedication, patience, and care exemplified the highest standards of his profession. Our family consulted him for many years; he was consistently attentive to our concerns and provided thorough medical assistance, always accompanied by his nurse Frances. On one occasion, when my grandson Cole was unwell, Dr. Bagale invited him to listen to his own heartbeat with a stethoscope, creating a memorable experience. Cole’s health improved soon after. Dr. Bagale’s accomplishments are commendable, and his compassion is evident through his ongoing kindness to others. We offer our sincere condolences to his family and friends during this challenging period.
    With love,
Anita, Saundra, Deborah and Pamela Jenkins

  2. My condolences for your loss of a great human being. I worked for Dr Bagale for many years on Lake Avenue. He was the most kindest man/physician/employer I have ever known. Once he met a person, he never forgot their name and never was too busy to stop and speak. I will always remember him, Rest in peace my friend! He is now with his loved ones. Rest easy Dr. Bagale!

  3. CandleImageHe was such a wonderful person and I had the pleasure of treating him in his home and getting to know him. My sincere condolences to his family. May he rest in peace with his sweet wife and those gone before him

  4. Dr. Bagale was one of a kind. He took care of me and my husband Ron until he retired. We were always welcome at his home whenever we stopped by. Ill miss him so much as I kept checking on him after Ron passed.

  5. CandleImageJohn was and will always be my beloved brother, the best a sister could ever have. How I miss our nightly phone conversations; his absence here on earth will leave a huge hole in my heart for the rest of my life.
In our thoughts and beliefs, we were two peas in a pod. John was not only a huge intellect but the kindest and most compassionate human being one could be. He meant a great deal to his patients, but even more to me as his sister. We lived many miles apart but were as close as two siblings could be. I’m so proud of the human being that he was, his ability as a physician and his service to our country.
My only condolence is that he’s once again reunited with his beloved Suzie-Q, as I often called her.
May you rest in peace, my dear brother, and have “creek time” as much as you wish for eternity.
    Your Sister Forever
    Beth
