Larry Leroy Carter, 62, left the world on October 26, 2023, in Pueblo, Colorado. Larry is survived by his daughter, Leah Carter; mother, Mildred Carter; brothers, Wayne (Nancy) Carter and Dale (Sherry) Carter; and sister, Sandra Oliva. He is also survived by nephews, Brandon Oliva, Matt Carter, Shawn (Ashley) Carter, and Paul (Heidi) Carter; and niece, Chelsey (Michael) Carter, as well as great-nieces and great-nephews. Also survived by ex-wife, Lori Carter. Larry was preceded in death by his father, Leslie (Kathy) Carter; as well as numerous aunts, uncles & cousins of both the Carter & Burrer families. Larry was born January 10, 1961, in Pueblo, Colorado. He worked various jobs over the years including driving heavy equipment & semis, garage door installation, and finished his work life with World Fuels. Larry graduated from South High School in 1979. He later became an honorary Central Wildcat when his daughter chose Central for high school, wearing the blue and white proudly. To say Larry loved sports would be an understatement – whether watching or playing. He loved the Broncos, Nuggets, & Avs and tried very hard to love the Rockies. Golf was his passion & he played as often as possible until his health didn’t allow it. Over the years he played in many local golf tournaments and played with the Pueblo Golf Association Golf Club and the Weekenders’ Golf Club. Larry was a diehard football fan no matter who was playing; the season couldn’t come soon enough and always ended too soon.
Larry was also a bowler; bowling for many years with his dad & brothers. He was a skilled bowler having bowled multiple perfect games & series. He was inducted into the Greater Pueblo USBC Hall of Fame in 2012. Larry also enjoyed fishing and spent many hours fishing the lakes & rivers in and around Lake City, Colorado.
