She leaves to cherish her memory: Ronald Courtney, David Courtney (sons), Julie Marie (granddaughter), Dustyn Courtney (grandson), Elaine Pusedu (sister), Betty Bonefield, Teddy Courtney, Sherry Courtney (Sister in laws), Ray and Cathy Courtney (brother in law), Julie Pagano (daughter-in-law) & her son Luke Fleckenstein; numerous nieces and nephews; Rocco (family pet).
Fran was an avid sportswoman participating in women’s fast pitch softball for many years with her husband James coaching the team to take them on to win a state championship one year. Fran had the pleasure of being a volleyball referee for high school and college tournaments. Her love of golf began 40 years ago at Elmwood Golf Course as a ranger/starter which became her home away from home where she met and enjoyed the company of many golfers; she was a stranger to no-one. She wouldn’t hesitate to let you know if you were out of line on HER golf course; for she gave everyone a hard time. She was involved with the Elmwood Ladies 9 Tees as well as the Elmwood Ladies 18 Hole League. She enjoyed the Bronco’s, and her monthly trips to Cripple Creek with the Eagles Pueblo Auxiliary 145 of which she was a member.
The family would like to thank the staff at Park West Rehabilitation Center and the Villa Rehabilitation/Senior Living Center for their compassion, care, generosity, and support given to Fran through this difficult time. Special thank you to her caring nurse Julianne for holding mom’s hand, giving her comfort and praying with her in her final moment. There are so many that took great care of Fran; we are truly thankful and blessed. May God Bless you all!!
